Fremont, California, March 18, 2009 - Digital Power Corporation (NYSE Amex:DPW) announced today that they have been awarded a contract to supply a custom, advanced power solution based on their cutting edge, high density, high efficiency design capability.  The major medical OEM who awarded the contract to Digital Power required a very specialized set of features to power their advanced device.

Digital Power will provide a universal power solution to power the first oxygen concentrator designed to provide unparalleled freedom for the active oxygen user. The solution will utilize both AC and DC power sources in one convenient power supply to power electronics and charge the system battery for stationary, portable, and travel use. Further, it’s a concentrator that makes its own oxygen, so it never has to be refilled. Working with the OEM, Digital Power’s solution makes travel by plane, boat, car, train or at home more convenient for oxygen users than ever before.

Digital Power was awarded this development contract for three important reasons. First, the technology is state-of-the-art, with an operating efficiency exceeding 90% over much of the intended operating range. Second, Digital Power was able to meet the customers target transfer price and delivery requirements in a challenging market.. Third, Digital Power Corporation has a proven track record of providing high quality, reliable power solutions to the Medical industry.
