Digital Power Corporation Announces Open-Frame Power Solution Win

FREMONT, Calif., Jan. 04, 2011—Digital Power Corporation (NYSE/Amex: DPW) announces that the company has been selected to provide a high-grade, open-frame power solution for a state-of-the-art communications platform.

The customer, a leader in the global telecommunications sector, provides network infrastructure products and backhaul solutions for advanced wireless systems.

The customer’s advanced communications platform requires high-grade continuous power, regardless of the power source. Digital Power’s custom solution for this customer is based on its eFO series, an open-frame AC/DC and DC/DC switcher that delivers 300 W to 500 W of continuous power with built-in active Power Factor Correction (PFC). The solution’s N+1 configuration provides active redundancy operation critical to the telecommunications sector.

“The eFO series is a robust platform and next-generation solution,” said Amos Kohn, president and CEO of Digital Power. “Our engineering expertise and willingness to engage in a ‘hands-on’ working relationship with the customer’s engineering and management teams were a critical factor in winning the sale.”

Like all Digital Power solutions, the eFO series is designed with a flexible architecture that can be rapidly modified to meet unique requirements for non-standard output voltages. The flexibility of the eFO series, coupled with one of the smallest commercially available packaging sizes, has led to its wide acceptance in the telecom industry.
